Content Researcher for TikTok and YouTube Shorts Analysis
We're looking for a video content researcher who can reverse-engineer what makes short-form videos go viral on TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Your role will include:
1. Creating GSB (Gold/Silver/Bronze) analyses of formats and surfacing patterns (e.g., hooks, pacing, editing choices, etc.) that contribute to virality.
2. Identifying Gold, Silver, and Bronze videos based on metrics like view-to-follower ratio, view velocity and engagement.
3. Breaking down the first 3-10 seconds of each video in detail (e.g., visual cues, on-screen text, pattern interrupts, use of props, gestures, etc.).
4. Documenting repeatable format beats (the structure across examples).
5. Delivering findings in a clean Google Sheet/Notion DB/Excel file. A template will be provided for you to use.
We're looking for:
1. Keen eye for detail and pattern recognition.
2. Comfortable working in Sheets/Notion/Excel.
3. Solid understanding of social media dynamics.
4. Clear, structured written communication.
Nice-to-have:
1. Prior experience in content research, brand strategy or social video analysis.
2. Familiarity with hook mechanics, storytelling frameworks and formats, or the psychology of virality.
Scope & cadence:
1. This role begins with a paid trial project (smaller scope: ~6 videos analyzed + short Loom).
2. If successful, this will continue as a weekly recurring role (12-15 videos analyzed per week, with clear GSB breakdowns).
3. Bonus if you can also draft a 1-page Activation Guide (format beats + props + shot list), but this can be supported in other ways if writing isn't your strength.
If you love analyzing short-form content, spotting what makes videos "pop," and presenting insights in a clear, actionable way - we'd love to hear from you!
