Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank statement reconciliations
- Apply strong accounting skills to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports
- Provide bookkeeping consultative services to clients, including QuickBooks Online support and other application support
- Process payroll activities, including garnishments and payroll tax submissions
- Assist in maintaining an accurate and intuitive filing system
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Promote firm growth by nurturing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Support management with onboarding new clients, including historical data conversions, accounting software migration, and other software application setup
- Perform various administrative tasks, including archiving, client communications, and business organization assistance
Essential Qualifications
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online accounting software
- Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work non-traditional business hours when needed
- Must pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in public bookkeeping or accounting, or a similar industry
- Associate's degree with an emphasis in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
- Professional licenses and software certifications, such as QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification
- Willingness to become a Certified Bookkeeper or Certified Public Bookkeeper
