Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank statement reconciliations
  • Apply strong accounting skills to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports
  • Provide bookkeeping consultative services to clients, including QuickBooks Online support and other application support
  • Process payroll activities, including garnishments and payroll tax submissions
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate and intuitive filing system
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Promote firm growth by nurturing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
  • Support management with onboarding new clients, including historical data conversions, accounting software migration, and other software application setup
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including archiving, client communications, and business organization assistance

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Must pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in public bookkeeping or accounting, or a similar industry

  • Professional licenses and software certifications, such as QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification
  • Willingness to become a Certified Bookkeeper or Certified Public Bookkeeper
