Job Summary
Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of experts in designing, developing, and maintaining top-notch products and experiences. As a full-stack software engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications that meet the needs of our guests and cast members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design and implement robust, high-throughput, low-latency, scalable, and secure code to solve complex problems and improve our products and experiences.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to propose extensible, reusable, and performant solutions that meet business requirements.
- Innovation: Proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementations, and explore new technologies and innovations to improve our products and experiences.
- Code Review: Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code and best practices.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues reported in lower and production environments, and work with teams to identify and fix root causes.
- Testing: Write unit and component tests to ensure high-quality code and participate in test-driven development.
- Agile Methodologies: Work in a Scrum team and provide daily updates, estimates, and feedback to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in software development, analysis, and design with full-stack development lifecycle experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Java, Spring Framework, SQL, and NoSQL-based databases.
- Web development, microservices architecture, and cloud-native applications (ideally in AWS).
- Scripting languages like JavaScript and frameworks like Angular/React.
- Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD tools.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in the industry space, specifically in products/estimating/stock areas.
- Technical Skills:
- GraphQL/Graph DBs.
- Experience with new technologies and innovations.
