Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and offering helpful solutions.
  • Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and medication information.
  • Register sales on assigned sales register, handle cash transactions, and process returns, delays, discounts, and exchanges as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including counters and storage areas.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the Pharmacy Director, Staff Pharmacist, and Senior Manager, including data entry, stock management, and other administrative duties.
  • Handle phone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unloading, and stocking shipments of medications.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled substances.
  • Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment, including photo area equipment and online order systems.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekend hours.
  • PTCB certification (or willingness to obtain) through the assigned PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens.
  • Strong numerical skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with store inventory control systems.
  • PTCB certification.
