Job Summary

As a Quality Control Standards Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data to identify trends and performance metrics that will help improve the Quality Control division. You will work closely with the Quality Control team to develop, present, and implement novel ideas and projects, as well as perform critical analysis to mitigate risks through process improvements. Your goal will be to support company objectives, including maintaining low costs, modernizing operations, and improving compliance, ultimately providing a competitive edge to Southwest Airlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team with timely data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements.
  • Help develop and communicate results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
  • Assist in addressing critical ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide insightful answers to enable senior leadership to make business decisions while adjusting existing task responsibilities.
  • Present findings, trends, and potential implications using data visualization tools to support relevant places of analysis and ease stakeholder understanding.
  • Help develop and distribute specific queries to pull and organize data from various sources, establishing the rhythm, and validating the need for data requirements.
  • Identify anomalies in processes through reviews/surveys and communicate findings to the team.
  • Assess the effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and errors.
  • Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision.
  • May perform other work obligations as directed by the Team Lead.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and abilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, coordinate, and analyze critical measures of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand, and convey ideas and present information in writing, verbally, or through presentations delivered to groups of varying audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate business issues, identify opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
  • Experience with PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred.
  • Past internship, capstone projects, and analysis coursework is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively and be an independent thinker.
  • Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information properly.
  • Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
