As a Recreation Center Manager, you will play a key role in providing exceptional recreational programs and services to active duty Marines, their families, and other eligible patrons.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operation and control of the Active Duty Recreation Center, including property, equipment, and daily operations.
- Develop and implement an activity safety program in accordance with the base safety program, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Supervise employees and volunteers, including assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees, and completing performance reviews.
- Develop, schedule, organize, publicize, direct, and evaluate recreational programs and activities, including social, cultural, athletic, and recreational activities, performing arts, life skills development, competitions, and social interactions.
- Manage staff and patrons to resolve complaints and grievances, and provide world-class customer service.
- Assist with Single Marine Program trips, programs, and events as needed, including addressing large numbers of people in a public setting, supervising recreation trips, and managing volunteer activities.
- Maintain confidentially when collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII), HIPPA, and other sensitive information.
- Perform financial management duties, including working within the given budget for specific events, obtaining and maintaining a Government Purchase Card, and assisting in preparation of supporting data for new plans and budget requirement recommendations.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Three years of professional experience in the recreational field or three years of facility management experience, which demonstrates knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, techniques, and procedures used in organizing, planning, administering, and conducting recreational activities.
- A valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of the Marine Corps and MCCS systems is highly desirable.
- A Bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field is highly desirable and may replace some work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
To be competitive for this role, you should also have:
- Experience in managing recreational programs and services for a diverse population.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to successfully plan, organize, and execute special events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and Windows.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain within the first three months of employment.
- Certification as a Program Planner or Certified Parks and Recreation Professional, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
- Food handling certification, or willingness to obtain within three months of hire.

Work Environment
As a Recreation Center Manager with MCCS, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm. You will be expected to work nights and weekends, occasional travel, and some federal holidays. You must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is $23-$26 per hour, depending on experience. As a federal employee, you will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, and retirement savings.
