Job Overview

As a Secondary Social Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in a classroom setting, which may include students with educational risk factors and special needs. You will be expected to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of your students, understand and support students with significant needs and behaviors, and implement the district curriculum to maximize student learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to a wide range of developmental needs
• Form strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment
• Supervise and evaluate students within your teaching assignment, providing constructive feedback and guidance
• Implement the district curriculum in a way that promotes student learning and achievement
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning, incorporating new methods and technologies into your instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and programs
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about student progress

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Kansas teaching license with secondary certification and a Social Studies 6-8 or 9-12 endorsement. We are looking for candidates with a strong educational background, relevant teaching experience, and a passion for social studies education.

• Kansas teaching license with secondary certification
• Social Studies 6-8 or 9-12 endorsement
• Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum and pedagogy
