We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Specialized Educational Support Professional (ESP) to join our team on a remote basis. As a Specialized (DCD-MM) Educational Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support to students who require special education services, helping them achieve their full potential and succeed in various academic and social environments.

About the Role

The Specialized Educational Support Professional will work closely with certified staff to implement students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs), providing instructional support, behavior management, health support, and collecting data to track student progress. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with unique needs, while working in a flexible and remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement aspects of students' IEPs under the direction of certified staff, including instructional support, behavior management, and health support.
  • Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and use de-escalation techniques and restrictive procedures as needed (training provided).
  • Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors, collecting data on student progress towards goals and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on student progress to certified staff and other relevant team members.
  • Supervise students in various settings, including meal times, recess, and field trips.
  • Model appropriate language and social behavior, building strong relationships with children from diverse backgrounds and neuro-types.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with all staff members.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills, with regular and on-time attendance.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with elementary age students, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Computer skills are preferred, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Positive rapport with children, including the ability to correct inappropriate student behavior with fairness and consistency.
  • Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Compensation and Benefits
