Key Responsibilities

• Professional Learning and Growth: Participate in yearly professional development, including faculty and grade-level meetings, job-embedded professional development, and cluster meetings.
• Student Engagement: Design and deliver engaging visual arts lessons that promote student participation, creativity, and academic achievement.
• Essential Content: Develop common core-aligned lesson plans and unit plans that advance students toward grade-level standards and expectations.
• Academic Ownership: Foster a classroom environment where students take ownership of their learning, provide meaningful feedback, and engage in critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Demonstration of Learning: Assess student progress through various methods, including observations, written work, and project-based evaluations.
• Teacher Accountability: Participate in TAP evaluations, observations, and feedback sessions to continuously improve teaching practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
• A valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate (preferred).
• Two years of teaching experience (preferred).
• A proven record of high student achievement and academic growth.
