As a Patient Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical assistance and support from their doctor. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking medical assistance and support from their doctor
- Build trust with patients and provide compassion and empathy using customized scripting
- Accurately document patient needs prior to speaking with a nurse
- Utilize excellent organizational and computer skills to multi-task while speaking with patients
- Demonstrate excellent listening and comprehension skills to determine key information from patients
- Maintain a professional and courteous tone on the telephone
- Defuse conversations and escalate situations as necessary
- Handle confidential information with discretion and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred
- 1+ year of customer service experience required
- 1-2 years of healthcare experience desired
- Inbound call center experience preferred
- Call Center, Medical Office/Clinic, front desk, or first point of contact in a customer service environment preferred
- Ability to type a minimum of 25 wpm
- Excellent organizational and computer skills and ability to multi-task while speaking with patients
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills to determine key information from patients
- Professional, courteous telephone voice
- Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
- Ability to defuse conversations and escalate if necessary
- Ability to handle confidential information; HIPAA experience is a plus
- Detail Oriented – Accurately process and document information ensuring data integrity
- Ability to follow scripted information while interacting with patients and a willingness to escalate situations as appropriate
- Flexibility with scheduling
- Ability to receive feedback on job performance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Patient Coordinators must be able to converse in Spanish and document in English simultaneously
Remote Workstation Requirements
To ensure a successful remote work experience, you will need to meet the following requirements:
Internet:
- A reliable high-speed internet connection is required for this position
- Cable internet provider recommended (e.g., Xfinity/Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum)
- Satellite internet and cellular hotspots are not sufficient
- Hardwire internet from modem or Ethernet jack to work computer
- WiFi is not acceptable and disrupts the connection to our servers
- Minimum bandwidth speeds: 23 megabits download and 10 megabits upload
Telephone:
- A reliable telephone line is required for this position, at the employee's expense
- Land-line phone or voice-over line provided by the same company as internet (VOIP brands like MagicJack, Ring Central, Google Voice, etc. are not acceptable)
- Phone line must be directly connected from workstation to phone jack or modem
Workstation:
- Allow enough space for 2 (two) 27” computer monitors, a computer, a keyboard, a mouse, and a dial pad/phone
- Arrange workstation to hardwire to internet and phone line
- Workstation must be located in a room with a door that can be locked
- HIPAA compliant and protects PHI
- Prevents disruptions during work hours

Compensation:
- Competitive salary: $15.00 per hour
- Additional incentives/shift differentials:
- $1 per hour additional for shifts starting at 3pm or after, Sunday through Friday
- $1 per hour additional for shifts starting at 7am or after on Saturday
- $1 per hour additional for working 3 out of 4 weekends
- $2 per hour additional for working 4 out of 4 weekends
- $1 per hour additional for Spanish Speaking staff (testing required)
