Job Summary
As a Payroll Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes related to payroll. This entry-level position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, self-starter environment. You will be responsible for data entry, customer service, and various payroll-related tasks to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Data Entry and Processing: Review time sheets, process wage computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with established payroll policies and procedures.
- Payroll Calculations and Verification: Verify hours worked, pay adjustments, and compute wages and deductions.
- Payroll Record Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll records to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Reporting and Regulatory Compliance: Produce, review, and upload quarterly reports for State and Government agencies.
- Tax Processing and Payment: Pay weekly taxes and process positive pay, direct deposit, and pay cards.
- W2 Processing: Assist with W2 processing and distribution.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to company personnel regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in payroll, data entry, or a related field.
- Numerical Skills: Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll software.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
