Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a remote basis. As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Screen and process prescriptions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Read and interpret prescription terminology, utilizing knowledge of generic and brand medications, and enter prescription information into our computer system.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in prescriptions, directing questionable prescriptions to prescribers for clarification and obtaining necessary information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other pharmacy-related functions as required, including data entry, faxing physicians for clarification, and supporting workflow development.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy license or trainee permit.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program.
- 3 months of pharmacy experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer knowledge and typing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with pharmacy management software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including prescription processing and patient records.
