Job Summary
As a Physical Therapist - Certified Hand Therapist at Monument Health, you will play a vital role in our Rehabilitation Services Department, providing individualized care to patients with various physical and functional needs. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that promote optimal physical health and functional abilities. Your expertise and passion for patient care will make a lasting impact on the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care to individuals with various physical and functional needs, including those requiring hand therapy services
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each patient
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs and develop effective treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and promote optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in physical therapy and hand therapy
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of South Dakota
- Certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred but not required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field
- Advanced certification in hand therapy or a related specialty
- Experience working in a hospital or outpatient setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and billing systems
Physical Requirements
As a Physical Therapist - Certified Hand Therapist at Monument Health, you will be required to:
- Exert over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time) and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time)
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues
- Work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends
