Solutions Engineer (Utilities)

The Solutions Engineer will work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to design and showcase software applications, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions. This position involves both one-to-one customer engagement and broader presentations, ensuring that prospects and partners understand how the technology addresses their challenges. The role requires creativity, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to craft impactful demonstrations and proofs of concept. Accountabilities
- Provide technical and product expertise to sales teams, prospective customers, and partners throughout the sales process.
- Design, develop, and deliver product demonstrations and proof-of-concept applications that showcase the business value of solutions.
- Maintain an enterprise-level demo environment that includes software solutions and associated technologies.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to maximize the benefits of technology deployments.
- Translate business requirements into architecture and design specifications aligned with implementation strategies.
- Support presentations, training, and workshops at marketing events and client meetings.
- Coordinate with product and marketing teams to identify key capabilities, develop marketing resources, and educate internal teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, including technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or product-related functions.
- Strong experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders including sales, marketing, product development, and professional services.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, business analysis, and solution architecture experience.
- Familiarity with GIS, geospatial technologies, and Esri platforms; knowledge of the utilities industry is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, geography, geomatics, business administration, or related discipline.
- Willingness to travel as needed, primarily within the United States.
