Job Title: AI & Data Science Engineer (Contract / Part-Time) About Us: Dream College Path (DCP) helps students unlock their potential by preparing them for college admissions and future careers. We connect middle and high school students with expert mentors who guide them through hands-on projects, skill-building, and personalized learning experiences. Role Overview: We are seeking an AI & Data Science Engineer (Contract / Part-Time) to inspire, guide, and support middle and high school students in developing practical projects in artificial intelligence, data science, and related fields. The mentor will help students explore real-world applications, build technical and problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in STEM disciplines. Responsibilities: • Mentor middle and high school students on AI and data science fundamentals, tools, and techniques. • Design and guide students through engaging, age-appropriate projects (e.g., AI models, data visualizations, machine learning applications). • Provide 1-on-1 and small group support, ensuring concepts are clearly explained and accessible. • Offer feedback on student work, helping them improve both technical execution and presentation. • Inspire curiosity about AI, data science, and technology careers while fostering a positive learning environment. • Stay up to date with advancements in AI and education methods to bring fresh, relevant knowledge to students. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred). • Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, Python programming, and common data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, matplotlib). • Previous teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience with middle school, high school, or college students is highly valued. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to break down complex ideas into simple, engaging lessons. • Passion for education and empowering students to explore STEM fields. Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have): • Experience with student competitions, hackathons, or project-based learning. • Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks, Google Colab, or similar tools. • Knowledge of data ethics, AI safety, and responsible AI practices. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications and experience. This is a contract, part-time role with flexible hours. Location: Remote (with possible opportunities for in-person sessions depending on student needs).
