About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative for our Medicare Retiree Solutions team, you'll be the knowledgeable, trusted advocate for our members, providing compassionate, innovative, and proactive customer service that exceeds their expectations. You'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two calls are ever the same, and your adaptability, empathy, and patience will be essential in resolving member inquiries and concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate plan benefits, answer questions, and resolve issues based on incoming telephone member contacts, ensuring that every member is shown respect, kindness, and receives thorough answers or resolutions to their queries.
  • Utilize compliant documentation standards to maintain accurate records and ensure seamless follow-up on member interactions.
  • Provide empathetic and member-centric service, striving to exceed member expectations and deliver personalized support.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, empathy, and patience in handling a wide range of member inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues and drive positive change, whenever possible.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A demonstrated ability to be empathetic and compassionate in your interactions with others.
  • The ability to apply patience and understanding when dealing with complex or sensitive member issues.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing priorities and member needs.
  • Basic computer, typing, and telephony skills, or equivalent military experience.
  • A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

  • Previous customer service experience, particularly in a healthcare or insurance setting.
  • A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and resolving complex issues.
