Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the organization's overall domestic and international business operations and strategies, including asset management, employee benefits, business insurance, senior leadership team performance, treasury, financial management, legal, risk management, payroll, and technology initiatives.
  • Establishes and recommends business initiatives that improve operations, generate revenue, or control costs to position the organization for growth and sustainability.
  • Oversees corporate budgets and other organizational resources using approved financial guidelines, accepted practices, policies, and procedures; develops long-range financial plans that align with the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Plans and executes strategies, plans, and methods; delegates colleagues to special projects.
  • Collaborates and contributes to policy development that promotes organization culture and vision.
  • Participates in and monitors continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficiencies, quality control, and/or reduce costs.
  • Evaluates key results by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics; performs forecasts, projections, and predicting models.
  • Creates, reviews, audits, and revises various reports.
  • Collaborates with the Top management team to develop the organization's vision and strategic focus.
  • Serves as a staff liaison for the Board's Executive Council and the Finance and Audit Committee.
  • Stays up-to-date with professional and industry trends.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field; education may be substituted with 10 years of Chief Operating Officer experience.
  • 5 years of Chief Operating Officer or comparable role required.
  • Experience in revenue enhancement principles.
  • Experience with annual external financial audit processes.
  • Depth of experience in managing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration, promoting change management, developing staff, and setting clear goals.
  • 5 years of public speaking experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • BS/BA in Business Organization or relevant field; MS/MBA is a plus.
  • Experience in software, research, or strategy/marketing.
  • Experience in domestic and international business operations management strategies.
  • Experience in non-profit financial management.
  • Experience in Association Management Software Systems.
