Duties
• Performs a broad range of unusual and controversial assignments relating to information systems and architectures.
• Develops new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance computer networking, and adapt and apply advanced computer networking methods and techniques to solve complex communications processing requirements.

• Security Clearance level may be Secret, Top Secret or Yankee White.
• This position may require an OGE 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report required within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
• Salary to be determined based on duty location after selection.
• The incumbent may have to obtain Acquisition certification in the Test and Evaluation Functional Area at the Practitioner Functional Tier within 60 months of entry into this position.
• The incumbent may have to achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two years in accordance with the 4th Estate Director for Acquisition Career Management (DACM) Common Continuous Learning Cycle.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
For the GG-0854 Computer Engineer or GG-0855 Electronics Engineer:A. Degree: Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration Written Test Specified academic courses Related curriculum - With this criteria, applicants also need verification of employment from a supervisor stating you have performed professional engineering duties. For the GG-1550 Computer Scientist: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience coordinating and synchronizing global net-centric solutions to plan, engineer, acquire, and integrate joint, interoperable, secure global net-centric solutions.
