Job Summary

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Modernization Customer Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that works with customers to facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products. You will listen to customers' needs, deliver tailored solutions, and collaborate with fellow sales teams to resolve technical issues. Your expertise and presentation skills will help you engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, and persuade them to adopt Google Cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Manage the technical relationship with Google's customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments, provide recommendations on a roadmap for application modernization.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers.
  • Liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering.
  • Experience with virtualization or containerization platforms.
  • Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with security controls such as encryption, identity management and access control, attack vectors, and penetration testing.
  • Experience with networking concepts such as software-defined networking, routing, virtual private networks, load balancers, and firewalls.
