WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Our national public sector consulting firm is seeking a Manager to join our dynamic and growing Fiscal Solutions Team. In this role, you will lead cost recovery and user fee analysis consulting services for local and state government entities. You will oversee the development of cost-of-service analyses, indirect cost rates, and related deliverables, ensuring quality control and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities include conducting interviews with state and local government personnel, analyzing data prepared by consultants, finalizing recommendations and reports, and presenting to clients and stakeholders, including Boards and City/County Councils. You will manage project teams, monitor financial performance, and support business development through proposal writing, presentations, and marketing initiatives.
Candidates should bring strong public sector financial analysis experience, including previous leadership of cost-of-service studies. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with government operations are preferred. Success in this role requires independent problem-solving, critical thinking, self-motivation, and comfort with public presentations. A strong interest in serving the public sector is essential.
Comprehensive training will be provided on MGT’s proprietary cost-of-service models and systems.
In this role, you will:
Lead and manage staff on client projects, including supervision and training
Develop project plans and achieve individual utilization and sales targets
Support business development, including proposals and presentations
Manage full client engagement cycle from contract to completion
Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients
Lead internal and client-facing meetings
Analyze data and perform financial calculations for clients
Solve complex client challenges through research and collaboration
Stay current on applicable regulations and subject matter
Deliver clear, concise oral and written presentations
Participate in internal corporate initiatives and support MGT culture
Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required)
Seven (7) or more years of consulting or equivalent public-sector experience
Three (3) or more years of project management experience
Proven leadership skills, including staff development and team management
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience engaging with executives and diverse stakeholder groups
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic consulting environment
Experience preparing cost-of-service and indirect cost studies
Willingness to travel based on project needs and business development
