About the Role
As a Senior Counsel, Corporate Securities, you'll be responsible for providing expert legal guidance and support to DoorDash's Finance, Accounting, Equity Administration, Tax, Insurance, and Investor Relations teams. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with securities laws, rules, and regulations, including listing requirements and public filings. You'll also play a key role in managing processes related to quarterly and ad hoc Board and Committee meetings, ensuring corporate governance best practices, and providing general advice and counsel to our business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with securities laws, rules, and regulations, including listing requirements and public filings
- Provide legal oversight of quarterly earnings and investor relations related disclosures and advise on shareholder related matters
- Manage processes related to quarterly and ad hoc Board and Committee meetings, and ensure corporate governance best practices
- Support corporate-related tasks, such as insider trading compliance, drafting compliance certificates, advising on director & officer matters, etc.
- Provide general advice and counsel to business partners in DoorDash's Finance, Accounting, Equity Administration, Tax, Insurance, and Investor Relations teams
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a strong background in corporate securities law, with a minimum of 7+ years of experience working in-house at a public company, at a law firm, or a combination of both. You're expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex ideas simply and understandably to employees at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- 7+ years of experience as a corporate securities lawyer, working in-house at a public company, at a law firm, or a combination of both
- Strong understanding of securities laws, rules, and regulations, including listing requirements and public filings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and understandably
- Experience creating clarity and bringing focus and direction to the most important priorities that will drive the biggest impact
- Ability to foster empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect in your practice, with a default toward assuming good intentions about others
