We're now seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Marketing Analytics team, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, optimize our marketing strategies, and uncover key business insights.
About the Role
The Marketing Analytics team is at the forefront of Hulu's marketing measurement, automation, and reporting efforts. As a Senior Analyst, you'll collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including Marketing, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Product, Data Science, and Finance. Your expertise will help us develop and refine our business measurement solutions, drive data-driven decision-making, and foster a culture of analytics excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, deliver, and continuously improve our business measurement solutions to support marketing and business decisions
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and unlock opportunities, leveraging data insights to inform strategic decisions
- Utilize internal and external analytics tools, SQL, and scripting languages to access and analyze multivariate data, driving business growth and optimization
- Analyze and report key data quality health KPIs through regular metric monitoring, revising and refining our approaches as needed
- Translate complex reporting needs into technical specifications, including calculations, custom groups, parameters, filtering criteria, and aggregations
- Analyze subscriber and behavior data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create a common understanding of how people interact with our platform and content
- Collaborate with our Product, Engineering, and QE teams to build and automate reports and dashboards that provide insights into business measurement and effectiveness
- Develop intuitive presentations, interfaces, infographics, and visualizations to create a data-driven narrative, partnering with Strategic Planning and Marketing stakeholders
- Provide ongoing reporting and analysis to inform and support business, product, and marketing decisions
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Math/Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on analytical work experience with SQL, demonstrating expertise in manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
- Experience with creating, executing, and analyzing complex AB/MVT test constructs to test stakeholder hypotheses
- Strong experience in documenting data requirements, data strategy, and data rules (standardization, cleanse, and validation)
- Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot issues, analyze causes, and develop solutions, communicating organizational impact effectively
- Ability to evaluate risks and provide recommendations in a timely manner
- Skilled in explaining data anomalies, developing data visualizations, and reporting to drive key messaging and recommendations using tools like Tableau and Looker
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to analyze and interpret market and consumer information
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Experience in the streaming media industry or other subscription-based services
- Experience in the technology industry, with knowledge of data products
- Experience writing, managing, and deploying Python code
- Familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Datorama, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, and Tableau
What We Offer
At Hulu, we're committed to providing a comprehensive compensation package that reflects our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. The hiring range for this position is competitive, with a salary range of $114,900 to $154,100 per year in Santa Monica, CA, and $120,400 to $161,500 per year in New York, NY. You'll also be eligible for a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
