Key Responsibilities
- Safe and Efficient Flight Operations: Operate the SA227 aircraft in accordance with all applicable regulations, program/corporate policies, and procedures to ensure safe and efficient transportation of cargo.
- Effective Communication: Utilize professional communication skills for complex internal and external aircraft communications, ensuring seamless coordination with air traffic control, crew members, and other stakeholders.
- Crew Leadership and Customer Service: Emphasize flight crew members' safety and provide exemplary customer service, fostering a positive and respectful in-flight environment.
- Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection: Note and communicate aircraft deficiencies to maintenance personnel for review and correction, ensuring the airworthiness of the aircraft.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Perform flights during day, night, and various weather conditions, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic operational environment.
- Additional Duties: Assist with loading and unloading freight, and perform other duties as assigned, showcasing a willingness to support the team and contribute to the success of the operation.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Licenses and Certifications: Hold an unrestricted FAA Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument rating, or an Airline Transport Pilot License.
- Medical and Proficiency Requirements: Possess a current Instrument Proficiency Check, FAA Medical Certificate (First Class), and FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Language Proficiency and Age Requirement: Be English proficient and at least 18 years of age.
- Documentation and Eligibility: Hold a current passport, driver's license, and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Physical Requirements: Be able to lift up to 120 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft, demonstrating the physical stamina required for the role.
- Background Checks and Screenings: Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screening and other required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are highly preferred:
- Flight Experience: Accumulate a minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time, with 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command, 500 hours of multi-engine experience, 500 hours of cross-country experience, and 100 hours of night flying experience.
- Aircraft-Specific Experience: Possess SA227 or similar turboprop (TPE331) experience, demonstrating familiarity with the aircraft type and its operations.
- Part 135 or 121 Experience: Have experience operating under Part 135 or 121 regulations, or have previous cargo experience, which is highly desirable.
- iPad Requirement: Be prepared to use an iPad when reporting for duty, showcasing adaptability to technology and digital tools.
