Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to work remotely from Texas, USA. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining Southwest Airlines' network infrastructure. This includes network hardware and software, ensuring network integrity, troubleshooting issues, and upgrading existing systems. You will work collaboratively with other teams and leaders to drive the future of Southwest Airlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute new network implementations, as well as improvements to existing networks, to maximize efficiency and security.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Procure network hardware and manage subcontractors involved in network installation.
  • Configure routing and switching to optimize network performance and security.
  • Recommend changes to improve network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, as well as to other teams and stakeholders.
  • Offer technical direction or backing to the development or troubleshooting of systems.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as directed by management.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Networking, or Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of network hardware, software, and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including business clients and technical teams.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
