Job Overview

This position is designed for a student with a strong passion for customer service, safety, and community engagement. As a first responder to accidents within the building and a key figure in maintaining a clean and safe environment, you will be integral to the daily operations of our facilities. Your responsibilities will include greeting patrons, addressing customer inquiries, performing basic cleaning tasks, and participating in special event setups and operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist all customers with various questions and problems in customer service areas, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Perform basic cleaning responsibilities, including trash removal, equipment maintenance, and laundry, to ensure a clean and safe environment for all patrons.
  • Participate in special event set-up and operations, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the success of university events.
  • Act as a first responder to accidents within the building, applying your knowledge of first aid and safety protocols to ensure patron well-being.
  • Maintain a visibly positive and approachable composure, promoting patron-employee relations and reflecting the university's commitment to excellence and inclusivity.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess or be willing to obtain the following certifications within the first 30 days of employment:

  • Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Standard First Aid certifications.
  • BBP Certification.

Additionally, you should be a current student with a strong academic record, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work up to 20 hours per week, including finding substitutes when unavailable.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in an educational or recreational setting.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience with event planning and execution.
  • Basic life support certifications, such as CPR/AED.
