About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Teaching and Learning Strategist for Chemistry Education to join our team. As a key member of our Discipline Strategy Teams, you will bring your subject matter expertise and instructional acumen to shape the pedagogical solutions that we envision for our digital platforms, including Achieve and other learning tools utilized in higher education curriculum. Your customer-driven approach will enable you to contextualize the experience of our digital users, working closely with instructors and students to develop a deep understanding of the teaching and learning strategies employed in their disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, marketing, pedagogical design, and technology, to define learning problems and develop innovative solutions that address the needs of our customers.
- Conduct research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies that can inform our product development and sales strategies.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to assess the effectiveness of our discipline-specific resources and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with Program Management to shape and form current revision and iterative update strategies, participating in test and learn initiatives to drive business growth.
- Collaborate with the pedagogical design group to create inclusive pedagogy and best practices that cater to the diverse needs of our customers.
- Develop effective tracking and analysis of Salesforce data, as well as key competitive adoptions, to inform our sales and marketing efforts.
- Brainstorm, create, and implement innovative strategies to support sales and marketing efforts, working closely with internal and external customers to drive business results.
- Contribute to the pedagogical design of the discipline's assessment story, validating author/contributors, formulating guidelines and training resources, and providing feedback on the work of assessment and resource authors.
- Provide support to customers by helping build courses for VIP instructors prior to the first day of class each term, as well as responding to questions and troubleshooting issues via email, phone, chat, and Slack.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A Master of Science or PhD in Chemistry or a related field, with a strong foundation in instructional design and educational technology.
- At least 5 years of experience teaching Chemistry at the collegiate level, or in educational publishing (college level a plus), with a deep understanding of the business, its processes, market, and trends.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, monitor, and meet deadlines for multiple highly complex projects simultaneously, with experience in successful scheduling, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to listen to and communicate clearly and strategically with diverse audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus to achieve objectives.
- Experience working collaboratively with a diverse team, proactively assisting and seeking input from others to achieve organizational goals.
- A track record of generating viable new approaches and solutions to problems or challenges in an increasingly digital learning environment, with a strong focus on innovation and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with instructional or pedagogical design, with a strong understanding of learning theory and educational technology.
- Experience in customer outreach or customer service, with a strong focus on building relationships and driving customer satisfaction.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits and perks, including:
