Job Summary

We're seeking highly qualified Adjunct Faculty members to teach core program courses in English and Writing, specifically in our foundational core course, "Experiencing Literature" (ENG 201), and/or our First Year Seminar (FYWS). As an Adjunct Faculty member, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to the academic and intellectual life of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach core program courses in English and Writing, including "Experiencing Literature" (ENG 201) and/or First Year Seminar (FYWS)
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that promote student learning and success
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the university's mission and values, promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MA, MFA, or PhD) in English, Writing, or a related field
  • Excellent teaching skills and references
  • Ability to work outside your area of specialization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the university's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at the college or university level
  • Experience with curriculum development and course design
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technologies
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
