Job Description:

As an Adjunct Instructor in the Graduate Psychology programs at Sacred Heart University, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in the Master's in Industrial-Organizational Psychology program. The program offers 8-week courses in a hybrid format, with 50% of the course delivered online and 50% on-campus. We are currently seeking instructors to teach the following courses:

  • Research Methods (class begins October 24, 2022)
  • Survey Research (class begins February 27, 2023)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality instruction to graduate students in Industrial-Organizational Psychology
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives
  • Provide individualized support and mentorship to students, fostering a supportive learning environment
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the program
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and research in Industrial-Organizational Psychology

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field (preferred)
  • Advanced ABD candidates will be considered
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to promote a collegial environment and apply SHU's mission and values to create a culture of inclusion and belonging
  • Experience with course design, delivery, and assessment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Research experience in Industrial-Organizational Psychology
  • Familiarity with online and hybrid course delivery
  • Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
