The Role: Aqua Fitness Instructor

As an Aqua Fitness Instructor with Life Time, you will be responsible for leading engaging and challenging water-based workouts that cater to diverse groups. You will:

• Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining group fitness classes.
• Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine.
• Attentively listen to members, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes.
• Clean and organize studio space after each Group Fitness class.
• Provide current music for each class that entertains and motivates while ensuring appropriate language.
• Promote Life Time Fitness promotions, programs, products, and services while specifically encouraging participation for Group Fitness classes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a variety of group fitness formats, including Aqua, Barbell Strength, LifeBarre, Warrior Sculpt, Xtreme, Strike, Kettlebell Kombine, and Gluteus Maxout.
• Design and implement engaging and challenging workouts that cater to diverse groups and fitness levels.
• Provide expert guidance and feedback to class participants, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Build strong relationships with class participants, encouraging continued class attendance and promoting Life Time Fitness programs, products, and services.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, research, and best practices, incorporating this knowledge into your teaching and programming.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful as an Aqua Fitness Instructor with Life Time, you will need:

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 or more years of fitness instructor work experience.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise Certifications: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading water-based workouts or aqua fitness classes.
• Knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
