About the Role

As a Senior Remote Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining our big data infrastructure and cloud-based technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in building scalable, efficient, and secure data pipelines that power our advertising planning, operation, reporting, and optimization efforts. You'll work closely with our team to ensure the highest standards of engineering practices, including design patterns, CI/CD, code review, and automated integration testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of large-scale data platforms, including operational data stores, real-time metrics stores, attribution platforms, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Collaborate with wider teams to ensure seamless integration and system documentation.
  • Maintain and continuously improve our next-gen cloud-based big data infrastructure for batch and streaming data applications, focusing on performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Advocate for best engineering practices, driving the adoption of design patterns, CI/CD, code review, and automated integration testing.
  • Ensure the development of highly available and scalable services for public consumption.
  • Process large amounts of data at the petabyte level, leveraging your expertise in big data technologies.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in data engineering and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of professional programming experience in Scala or Python, Java, and SQL.
  • At least 5+ years of experience developing in Amazon Cloud technologies, including S3, Glue, EC2, and Kinesis.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of big data design experience with technical stacks like Spark, Flink, Druid, ClickHouse, SingleStore, Snowflake, Kafka, Nifi, and AWS big data technologies.
  • Proven track record with cloud infrastructure technologies, with experience in at least two of Terraform, K8S, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, etc.
  • At least 3+ years of professional experience with MicroStrategy.
  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to build solid, testable, and maintainable clean code.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 1+ year of experience with Informatica.
  • 1+ year of experience with SQL.
  • 1+ year of experience in data warehousing.
