As a Remote Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting their operations, utilizing your clinical knowledge and customer service skills to make a positive impact on patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient information and check appropriateness using clinical criteria, making approval recommendations on services that meet clinical review criteria.
  • Practice and maintain the principles of utilization management by adhering to company policies and procedures, upholding the clinical integrity of pharmaceutical solutions.
  • Assist with documentation and implementation of written and verbal communications to physicians/prescribers, maintaining edits and data elements that support the edits.
  • Be available for consultation on pharmacy-related questions, resolving claims submission related to medication edits, and contacting physicians/prescribers to obtain pertinent clinical history/information.
  • Provide optimum customer service through professional and accurate communication, maintaining NCQA and health plan required timeframes.
  • Regularly review and monitor information on pended claims identified as outliers by internal and/or external analysis of pharmacy claims data.
  • Support Intake call volume and order entry if necessary, determining eligibility for medication reimbursement based upon established clinical criteria and clinical knowledge.
  • Electronically document written and verbal communications with physicians, their staff, cardholders, and pharmacies, escalating medical exception requests to nurse, pharmacist, or physician on the utilization review clinical team when necessary.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • At least 2 years of experience within a Customer Service role, ideally within the Hospital / Health Care / Healthtech, or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders in the region.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work delivery.
  • A self-starter with a high level of resilience, able to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks.
  • A University Degree - Certified Pharmacy Technician (Required).
  • Licensure in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin (Required).
  • Fluency in English (US) (Required).
  • Residence in the USA due to HIPAA compliance.
  • 4 to 6 years of supply chain or customer support service experience (Preferred).
