Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and tutoring to students in the after-school program, under the direction of the Expanded Learning Program
• Assist in leading after-school staff in engaging academic and enriching activities that promote student development and achievement
• Monitor student attendance, check-in/check-out procedures, and program requirements
• Develop and implement strategies to support students' academic, physical, and social growth
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to student support
• Maintain accurate records and reports, as required by the district and program

Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of college (48 units) or pass the District's assessment that demonstrates knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction or pass the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• Associate's degree highly desirable

Experience:

• Some experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an organized setting
• Some experience using computers, software, and other technology tools and resources relevant to providing academic and clerical support
• Experience working with individuals with special developmental needs is desirable
• Experience working in a lead capacity highly desirable, preferably in an educational environment

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community partners
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Familiarity with educational software and technology

Examination Process

The examination process may include:

• Application screening (pass/fail)
• Written exam (if applicable)
• Performance exam (pass/fail)
• Qualification appraisal interview (weighted 100%)

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $20.63 - $25.75 per hour. The district offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
