Job Summary

As an Elementary School Tutor, you'll play a vital role in delivering supplemental literacy practice to small groups of students using our prescribed literacy program. Key Responsibilities

* Conduct small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions with students using literacy materials provided by DECA PREP * Help children improve their reading skills and abilities to reach grade-level expectations * Build strong relationships with students, communicating effectively and sensitively * Regularly review student data to assess the effectiveness of literacy interventions and adjust strategies as needed * Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, tutors, and building leadership to ensure program success * Act on feedback and coaching from Instructional Coaches, Classroom Teachers, and Building Administrators * Ensure confidentiality of all student records and diagnostic scores * Assess student progress through progress monitoring and benchmarking * Document student progress scores and interventions using an online database system * Demonstrate a positive, supportive, enthusiastic, and encouraging attitude with all students and staff

Essential Qualifications

* Valid Ohio teaching license or certification * Strong interest in education, specifically helping young children develop early literacy skills * Effective interpersonal skills with children and adults * Ability to support students as individual learners * Sound student and classroom management skills * Experience with technology integration in teaching and learning processes * Effective in an interdisciplinary, team environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with students in kindergarten through fourth-grade levels * Familiarity with literacy programs and curriculum design * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
