Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and qualified English Teacher to join our team at New Milford High School. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts (ELA) to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. You will have the opportunity to design and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve district goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality ELA instruction to students, aligning with district curriculum standards and goals
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and activities that promote student learning and achievement
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and development
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum, share best practices, and support student success
• Participate in department meetings, grade-level meetings, and other professional development opportunities
• Communicate with parents and guardians through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences
• Stay current with developments in ELA education, attending workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities as needed

Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:

• Possess a valid and current Connecticut State Certificate in English Language Arts (ELA)
• Hold a degree from an accredited college or university
• Have a strong passion for teaching and learning, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
