Key Responsibilities

As a First Grade Teacher at St. Regis Catholic School, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational and spiritual journey of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching all subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and social studies, utilizing the Archdiocese of Detroit curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards.
• Creating and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Establishing and maintaining a well-organized and respectful classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.
• Assessing students' academic and social growth through various evaluation tools and providing constructive feedback.
• Communicating regularly with parents and guardians through clear and effective communication systems.

• Supervising students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunch, and bus duty.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

Essential Qualifications:

• A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, K-5 All Subjects.
• Endorsements in ZN, ZO, ZA, or ZS are preferred.
• Experience with Handwriting without Tears and Phonics First curriculum is desirable.
• A strong demonstration of Catholic Christian faith and a willingness to witness this faith through personal example.
• Catechist certification (or a willingness to attain certification).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft 365 platform and virtual learning platforms.
• Established classroom management techniques.
• Proficiency in using technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process, including iPads, Chromebooks, smart boards, and online instructional platforms.
