Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic High School 2.0 Program Support Specialist to facilitate engaging extracurricular activities and academic programs for our students. As a Program Support Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that cater to students' diverse interests and needs. You will work closely with our students, teachers, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging extracurricular activities and academic programs that cater to students' diverse interests and needs
- Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement programs that align with the school's mission and goals
- Provide support and guidance to students as they explore their interests and passions
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and community members to promote the school's programs and activities
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement
Programs and Opportunities:
We are offering four exciting programs that you can be a part of:
- Performance Teacher: If you have a passion for performance with acting and/or directing experience, we want you to facilitate a winter and spring production for our students to perform in.
- Mock Trial: If you have experience in the competition field of mock trial or a background in law, criminal justice, or knowledge of the court systems, we want you to help prepare our students for the competition and teach them about the trial system.
- Podcasting: If you have knowledge about how podcasts work and how they are created, we want you to begin a podcasting club where our students learn how to record podcasts and consistently make content that can be published online.
- Baking: If you have experience teaching students the basics of baking through baking terminology, tool and equipment use, formula conversions, functions of ingredients, and methods used in creating breads, pastries, cookies, and other desserts, we want you to share your expertise with our students.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., education, performance, law, communications, baking)
- Relevant experience working with students, preferably in a high school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Passion for working with students and commitment to their growth and development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching, coaching, or facilitating extracurricular activities
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools
- Experience working with diverse student populations
