Job Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Maternal/OB Clinical Nursing Faculty member to teach in our BSN Nursing program at our Tyson's Corner VA campus and partner clinical sites. As a Clinical Nursing Faculty member, you will be responsible for planning and implementing clinical experiences, providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students, and contributing to the ongoing development and evaluation of our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements clinical experiences for nursing students, providing direct supervision and evaluation of student performance
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with student knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs
  • Provides documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives
  • Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College
  • May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator
  • Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies
  • Serves as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students

Requirements

  • A master's (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license in Virginia or NLC Compact state
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
  • Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
  • Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maternal/OB nursing
  • Experience in teaching or precepting students
  • Familiarity with Chamberlain University's curriculum and program outcomes

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate's education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
