Job Summary

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education at Colorado Skies Academy, you will have the opportunity to work on your own schedule, gaining hands-on teaching experience while making a positive impact on students' lives. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $189 for day-to-day assignments and higher rates for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom, including free online training, one-on-one check-ins, and a dedicated consultant to guide you throughout your subbing journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students in a variety of subjects, including but not limited to Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, and Drama
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their full potential
• Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning
• Collaborate with other educators and school staff to ensure seamless delivery of educational services
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant data

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (or in the process of obtaining)
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and other stakeholders
• Passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
• Empathetic nature, growth mindset, and drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Previous teaching experience, especially in a substitute or part-time capacity
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools
