Job Summary

As a Surgical Technology Instructor at Concorde Career Colleges, you will be responsible for providing active and effective learning experiences for students in all applicable educational settings. You will serve as a professional and academic role model, demonstrating expertise in surgical technology and a commitment to student satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings, as well as participating in campus and student activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct classes as assigned, preparing lesson plans and course materials as required
• Objectively assess students for academic performance, providing regular and constructive feedback
• Effectively organize and present subject matter to students, utilizing instructional plans and learning management systems
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, setting an example for professionalism and conduct
• Proactively inform Program Directors of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns
• Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation
• Record keeping, scanning, and other administrative tasks as required
• Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and certification requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Credentialed in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
• Minimum of four years of clinical experience in surgical technology, with at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role within the last 5 years
• Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surgical technology or a related field
• Experience in teaching or education
• Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology
