Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs for DCFS employees, including new and current staff, focusing on the Practice Model and other assigned training responsibilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to other trainers, technicians, and employees, serving as a lead trainer for the Eastern Region's training team.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and recommend training programs to address identified gaps and enhance employee performance.
  • Coordinate program activities, services, and implementation with private providers, governmental entities, and program users.
  • Collaborate with the intern program for the region, providing guidance and support to interns.
  • Mentor and coach other trainers in the region to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum, learning objectives, and course materials for training programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current employee of Eastern Region, DCFS (this recruitment is open only to current Eastern Region employees).
  • Training experience with DCFS, preferably with a focus on the Practice Model.
  • Working understanding of the DCFS training process and mentoring program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and training using various methods and techniques.
  • Ability to assess organizational training needs and develop curriculum, learning objectives, and course materials.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with experience in providing guidance and support to others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of case management experience with both Child Protective Services (CPS) and Permanency.
  • Experience with automated software applications and learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess training needs and develop solutions.
  • Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners.
