Key Responsibilities

- Process policyholder requests, including claim payments, policy information, and other related tasks, ensuring that all actions are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Review and maintain new and revised procedures regarding policy information, staying up-to-date with changes and updates in our insurance operations.
- Maintain department standards for number of calls, average handle time, and time management, ensuring that performance metrics are met or exceeded.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, both written and oral, and organization skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with some college education preferred.
- At least one year of office experience, preferably in a customer service or telecommunications environment.
- A background in Life and Health insurance is desirable, as well as knowledge of insurance operations.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make logical conclusions.
- Basic PC skills, with the ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
- Excellent alpha and number recognition skills, with demonstrated mathematical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish), with a pay differential available for eligible candidates.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of insurance industry trends and developments.
