As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing ETL/ELT data pipelines, creating data set mappings, and building batch processes using Apache Airflow. About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Disney, you will collaborate with Studios and Project Technology colleagues on various activities, including data requirements gathering, data validation, and pipeline development. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the company's data architecture and ensuring seamless data integration across multiple environments, such as DEV, QA/UAT, and Production. You will work with a wide range of technologies, including SQL, Python, Docker, GitLab, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Apache Airflow and other technologies
  • Create data set mappings, tables, and views to support business intelligence and analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and validate data quality
  • Develop and implement batch processes using Apache Airflow
  • Work with large datasets and big data technologies, such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Participate in driving best practices around data engineering software development processes
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance across multiple environments

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and data pipeline development
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, GitLab, Apache Airflow, AWS S3, and relational databases
  • 2+ years of experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases
  • Experience with Docker and containerization
  • 2+ years of experience using GitLab or GitHub for version control

Preferred Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field
