About the Role

This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Disney family from the comfort of your own home. As a Key Information Researcher, you'll work closely with internal partners to deliver exceptional visitor experiences through interactive and data-driven systems across Disney Encounters (DX). You'll report to Attractions Functional Innovation and be responsible for:

  • Facilitating and creating connections with colleagues, providing thought leadership, and driving initiatives to completion efficiently and effectively.
  • Engaging with research and colleagues to drive ML strategies and identify areas where business problems can be solved innovatively by applying ML.
  • Leading and working with various specialists and data scientists to implement and scale ML solutions that create enchanting experiences for our visitors and push the limits of operational goals.
  • Driving innovative research, proofs of concept, technology cash drives, and client interactions that lead to expanding top-tier AI platforms.
  • Managing functional support and maintenance of ML-related products and services delivered by the team.
  • Building standard processes used in daily operations and working with specialty units to plan, design, and execute large-scale projects in the AI space.
  • Productionizing ML algorithms in predictive analysis, clustering, image recognition, NLP, anomaly detection, and more, and evaluating their performance on real-world datasets.
  • Collaborating with various teams to achieve goals in improving system performance and coordinating with existing software practices that produce effective code.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 2+ years of mastery in Python and predictive modeling experiences, such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, Light, MXNet, etc.
  • 2+ years of expert-level experience in cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.
  • Proficiency in SDLC, QA cycles, and Object-Oriented Programming Design Patterns.
  • Expert-level experience in structured and unstructured data (i.e., images, video, text, etc.) and SQL relational and non-relational databases.
  • 2+ years of experience with Workflow or another data workflow management instrument.
  • Experience with amendment control programming, like GitHub and GitLab, Model Operations, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong systems integration architecture abilities, capable of transforming new tech into business solutions.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical background.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not mandatory, having experience in the following areas will give you a competitive edge:

  • Docker
  • Control frameworks
  • Kubernetes
  • Cloud arrangements in GCP or another cloud stage
  • Atlassian Instruments like Jira and Confluence
  • Agile advancement techniques
  • Automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous development
  • Data representation and data monitoring instruments (e.g., Splunk, Plotly, Tableau)
  • Sound analysis
  • Text analysis
  • A Ph.D. in Information Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical background.
