About the Role of an Expeditor

We are seeking an experienced Expeditor to join our team, responsible for coordinating with external suppliers to expedite the delivery of aircraft parts on time, supporting the company's overall material goals. As an Expeditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, working closely with various stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with external suppliers to expedite the delivery of aircraft parts, ensuring timely arrival to support the company's material goals.
  • Work with AOG (Aircraft on Ground) orders as required, prioritizing urgent requests to minimize downtime.
  • Provide past-due notifications to suppliers, ensuring prompt attention to delayed deliveries.
  • Manage maintenance/transportation plans and inventory reports to determine the need for materials, optimizing stock levels and reducing waste.
  • Provide transportation and delivery information to large workgroups, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Update FMR (Flight Maintenance Record) or log pages with current vehicle data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Create and update Excel-based reports, status, and dashboards, providing visibility into supply chain performance.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and data within purchasing software programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist Buyers with obtaining clarifications and purchase-ordering status, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, as well as suppliers, to address any discrepancies in shipping, invoicing, quality, and part number and quantity, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist Inventory Managers in resolving inventory issues, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Work with Supplier Managers to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring a proactive approach to supply chain management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/education.
  • Long-term postgraduate education in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Finance (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience in warehouse or expeditor work, or production network understanding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think "outside the box" and develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while supervising obstacles and change, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to assist others, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in aviation supply chain management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of purchasing software programs and inventory management systems.
  • Certifications in supply chain management or a related field (e.g., APICS, ISM).
  • Proficiency in additional Microsoft Office applications, such as Access or PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting, using tools such as Excel or Tableau.
