Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire, organize, cleanse, and control large-scale, high-dimensional data from various disparate sources using tools like PySpark and advanced SQL.
  • Build automated, flexible, repeatable, and integrated analytics using current big data architectures in data ecosystems, such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google Big Query.
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques (data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning) to identify patterns and uncover opportunities in social data.
  • Lead campaign, product, content, and audience analysis for business needs. Develop and track key metrics to measure success.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to complete data projects, contributing to solution discovery, design, build, and QA.
  • Translate business inquiries into analytical and technical approaches, driving results through analysis of large transactional-level datasets.
  • Communicate effectively, refining insights into concise and compelling data-driven stories and engage broadly with audiences across levels and functions.

Essential Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields.

Experience

  • 2 years of analytical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning methods.
  • Proficient in using scripting tools like PySpark/Python/R and SQL.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Strong time management with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data.
  • Experience reporting data requirements, rules, and assumptions.
  • Experience with data mining in distributed systems like Databricks/Google Big Query/Snowflake.
  • Experience handling large, transactional-level datasets and interpreting data trends from various disparate data sources.

Knowledge

  • Passion for music or media industry data.
  • Familiarity with music streaming services (Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, YouTube), social media platforms (TikTok, FB/Instagram), and emerging technologies (digital assistants/voice).
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields.
