Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound telephone calls from customers regarding Individual and Business-related tax compliance, delinquency, and general information requests and inquiries.
- Review taxpayer status and history, verify, gather, and update key information details, and document actions taken into multiple business systems.
- Educate taxpayers on current tax policies, submit requests for payment arrangements, and resolve Tier 1 level issues.
- Assist taxpayers in navigating the AZ Taxes website and self-servicing options.
- Prepare and submit electronic support requests according to department standard procedures.
- Escalate complex issues to Tier 2 Subject Matter Experts when necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and professional resolution of customer inquiries.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a call center or financial services environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Active Listening and Empathy: Capacity to listen attentively to customers, understand their concerns, and provide empathetic support.
- Basic Computer and Software Skills: Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other software applications.
- Typing Skills: Accurate and efficient typing skills, with the ability to handle high-volume calls.
