Job Summary
As an Information Researcher - RWE, you will play a critical role in generating Real World Evidence (RWE) through advanced analytics and innovative approaches in the clinical trials space. You will work closely with our Scientific Issues team to design and execute studies, analyze data, and deliver insights that inform business decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Mine and Analyze Data: Extract, transform, and load raw data from various sources, including in-house data assets and licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results to inform business decisions and shape study design.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with various stakeholders, including biopharmaceutical companies, to deliver meaningful insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other sources.
- Data Management and Curation: Clean, transform, and store data in a centralized data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization.
- Advanced Analytics and Modeling: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to identify new insights related to patient populations and treatment outcomes.
- Study Design and Execution: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring high-quality, thorough, and promptly interpretable results.
- Reporting and Visualization: Develop dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Due Diligence and Quality Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new data suppliers and vendors, driving RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field, such as epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience in Statistical Analysis: Proven experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.
- Statistical Knowledge: Familiarity with common statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, regression, decision trees, machine learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Data Handling and Management: Experience handling large datasets from multiple sources and working with protected patient health information.
- Proficiency in BI Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other business intelligence tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: PhD or graduate degree in a relevant field, such as epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- EMR and Health IT Expertise: Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs), health information technology (HIT), disease libraries, and insurance claims databases.
- Clinical Data Standards: Familiarity with clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for RWE studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Alternative Data Sources: Experience working with alternative data sources and methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and solutions.
