Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer at Delta Airlines, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining event-driven data pipelines on AWS. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand and define data requirements, implement data quality checks and monitoring, and optimize data pipelines for performance and cost. You will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies and developing and implementing personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain event-driven data pipelines on AWS, including Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions.
- Work with stakeholders to understand and define data requirements.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies.
- Develop and implement personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models.
- Build and maintain DynamoDB tables and NoSQL databases.
- Use Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AWS native event-driven services, such as Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions.
- Experience with data engineering best practices, including data modeling, data quality, and data security.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with serverless technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Experience with personalization, Python, Pydantic models, DynamoDB, and NoSQL.
- Experience with Amazon Kinesis.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing and data warehousing concepts.
