About the Job
As a Senior Data Scientist at Disney, you will be responsible for:
* Leading the development of predictive models and data-driven insights to drive business growth and innovation
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including examiners, specialized assistants, and business pioneers, to deliver high-impact projects
* Interpreting business needs into precise product requirements to direct development
* Leading design meetings, adjusting techniques to business drivers, challenges, and long-term objectives
* Designing effective data pipelines to address business issues, utilizing specialized tools and retail frameworks
* Setting and executing data science group best practices and leading code audits for colleagues
* Creating compelling visuals, diagrams, and graphs that resonate with data, tailored to various audiences
* Utilizing advanced analytical techniques (regression, AI, clustering) to drive significant insights
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced data scientist with:
* 2+ years of experience creating examination, measurable, or AI models to extract insights and address business challenges, preferably in a retail setting
* Capability in web analysis and visitor segmentation using data to drive informed decisions and improve online experiences
* Experience leading small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and creative problem-solving for business challenges
* Ability to work on complex problems, creating data-driven stories for direction
* Cloud platform/tech capability
* Aptitude in AI or machine learning methods
* Experience in investigating and underlying driver analysis
* Success in fast-paced, changing conditions
* Preferred knowledge of various project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum)
* Proficient relational skills for effective team and individual communication
* Capability in various data technology areas:
+ Data pipelines and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep)
+ Database platforms including Snowflake and SQL Server
+ Preprocessing languages (e.g., Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, Python)
+ Factual and data science languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python for Data Science)
+ Use of AI techniques
+ Experience with advanced analytics systems (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Boosting, Support Vector Machines, Time Series)
