Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan for the Boys Basketball B Squad, focusing on skill development, strategy, and physical conditioning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and camaraderie among players.
- Collaborate with the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach and other coaching staff to ensure a cohesive and progressive program.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of academic achievement, personal responsibility, and community engagement.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, players, and school administrators regarding team activities, expectations, and progress.
- Ensure compliance with school and district policies, as well as Minnesota state regulations governing high school athletics.
- Participate in coaching clinics, workshops, and other professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and innovative coaching techniques.
Essential Qualifications
- A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
- Successful high school and/or collegiate level head coaching experience, with a proven track record of developing players and achieving team success.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with players, parents, and school staff.
- A commitment to the mission and values of East Ridge High School and the South Washington County Schools district.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in educational leadership and/or coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., physical education, sports management) or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working with diverse populations and promoting inclusivity in athletics.
- Knowledge of athletic training methods, sports nutrition, and injury prevention techniques.
